It all looks right to me.
So these last pair must be mid-late 70's.
I notice he's got his foot on the dog's lead, must be a bit camera shy.

A bit late to the party but didn't the fashion for leaving the bottom waistcoat button undone not arrive until the early 1900s with Edward VII?

Honestly not sure about that. I know that I was always told to leave the bottom button undone  (in those far off days when waistcoats were in fashion)
