Hoping to find marriages and there after census for 1,2,3 children please
1. Joseph Thompson was born 25 Feb 1842 in Baswich Stafford and died 09 Sep 1879. He married Ann Wright. She was born 19 Dec 1814 in Shuttington, Warwick, daughter of Thomas Wright and Catherine W. He married Ann Plant 25 Apr 1864 in Forebridge Stafford. She was born 1847, daughter of William Plant and Ann Wright.
 
Children of Joseph Thompson and Ann Plant:
     i.                 William Thompson was born 1868 in Castle town Stafford
     ii.                 Sarah Thompson was born 1875 in castle Town Stafford
     iii.                 Samuel Thompson was born 1877 in Castle town Stafford
     iv.        2.        Susan Thompson was born 1879 in castle church stafford and died 08 Oct 1956

On the 1881 census Ann a Widow is living at Railway Lodge, Castle Church, Stafford, working as a Matron/Servant, her four children are with her. William is 13 years old, and his Mother is only 29 years old, so I think her age must be incorrect on the census and she must have been 34 years old if the other dates are correct, being only 17 when she married Joseph.

Have you looked for marriages on freebmd? 

Have you checked the 1901  & 1911 censuses for Samuel & William to see if they have wives?

If Susan died in 1956 what surname was her death registered under?  Look for a marriage using that surname

You are looking for marriages of the children of Joseph & Ann which are going to be in the 1890's so the 1871 entry does not help with that type of query

Hers is Joseph engine driver deceased.
Witness Samuel Thompson and Henrietta Cockill.
They are on the 1911 census in Manchester with 2 children.

Samuel stays in Castle Church
Samuel married there 29.6.1899 Bertha Louisa Bereton
Samuel 23 fireman  Burley terrace Joseph driver
Bertha Louisa Brereton  29 spins Rowley Park Samuel Bond Bereton clerk
wit Sarah Thompson and John Bereton.

Samuel and Bertha are at 20 Railway St Stafford in 1901.
