I’m trying to trace the parents of Mary Taylor who married William MacGregor Gordon in Jul 1921 in Newcastle Upon Tyne. Any help would be much appreciated please

Your first step is to look at the marriage certificate to obtain more information about her.

1911 census shows 6 entries for a Mary Taylor with no middle name & born 1899-1903 so you need to buy the 1921 marriage cert

William was b 1903 so more likely Mary was too

One of the entries is aged 8 & in a residential school & 2 others in that age range are with parents

A tree on Ancestry has her as Mary Agnes Taylor b 1905 - no other info & no supporting evidence

Mary Jane Taylor b March quarter 1903 with mother’s name Rogers might fit with the given birthdate on the other records we have found.

Free BMD has a marriage - John William Taylor and Elizabeth Rogers.

You can search 1911 census on Family Search if you do not have access to other sites.

With a surname like Taylor & seemingly so little other info - buy the marriage cert to establish her fathers name & occupation
