Once again, thank you for the information.   I wasn't sure if there would be a certificate of baptism showing more information i.e godparents.

RC baptisms usually have godparents' names but I don't think the C of E included godparents' names until the 20th century. That information wasn't recorded so is lost to us. I think the earliest C of E baptism I have with godparents' names on is from 1933 so they likely were recorded by 1920s or 1930s.

Janice,

I believe that what you are hoping to find is the certificate which was given to the parents on the baptism day - which was separate from & additional to the standard entry in the church register.

I have a few such certificates relating to my wife's (Ashton-under-Lyne) family which, as you have mentioned, do contain the names of the godparents.

However, as these were individually presented to mark the happy event, I think it highly unlikely that there will be an online dataset which you will be able to source.
