Missing marriage - Morozoff
« on: Wednesday 16 October 24 11:46 BST (UK) »
Hi  :)

Looking for some help finding a marriage.

I thought this would be fairly straight forward as the groom was John Morozoff b Russia 1865 he was apparently married to Emily Elizabeth Hall b 1866 Middlesex.

They are found together in the 1881 census as a married couple but I cannot find their marriage.

Any help would be great.

Many thanks

Z

John Morozoff 1892 St James London

Later information gives his birth as 12th Aug 1891, he is now John Morrison

Quite a comprehensive tree on Ancestry but no mention of a marriage.

You could buy a digital copy of one of the children’t birth certs for £3 to see if Emily is shown as “nee Hall” or just as Emily Elizabeth Hall.

Whilst it’s not proof positive it can sometimes indicate there was no marriage

No - I believe it was James George Hall b1816 Poplar he was a ship joiner married to Harriett Stebbing

Several of his children listed him as John Charles Hall on their marriage certificate not sure why but I'm trying to find his death and it's proving to be tricky so I thought if I could find his last childs marriage information I would able to narrow down dates for his death, it may or may not list him as deceased, but now I cannot find the marriage information of his last child - Emily Elizabeth Hall.

Thanks for looking I appreciate your help

Are James and Harriet the couple living in Poplar in 1861?  Their youngest daughter is Jane and as Harriet was aged 51 it is highly unlikely that she had a child in 1866.
