Bartonkuss - Lithuania
« on: Tuesday 15 October 24 17:06 BST (UK) »
Hi. I have a birth document from Scotland that states that the parents' marriage took place in Bartonkuss, Poland.  I know that the Lithuanian borders changed frequently in its history and all evidence leads to it being in Lithuania and not Poland.   My question is this.  If they said that they married in Bartonkuss, it would have been written down by a Scottish registrar phonetically, does this name ring any bells as to what it would be called in Lithuanian. TIA

Births took place in Scotland from 1908 to 1920. Names are private at the moment. Thanks

Welcome to Rootschat, we hope you enjoy it here.
If you can provide the key info that davecapps asks for then that helps put your enquiry into context.

Not found anything yet.

This gazetteer gives former names of places in Lithuania, but haven't found anything that fits yet.

There is a Bartlaukis in Lithuania:
