Find My Past Download Page from Newspaper
« on: Sunday 13 October 24 13:25 BST (UK) »
I've been downloading pages from Newspapers for years by clicking on Download Page as seen in my second screenshot.  Today I get a different screen format without a Download Page option as seen in my first screenshot.  Have they amended things, or am I doing something wrong.

I think you have to select clip and then it gives you the option to download the whole page or just the article

Thanks for the reply.  I have tried that, but it saves the page as a jpg file, I used to get a pdf file.

By trial and error I found out how to do it.  You do have to use the clip, but use the Print option, not the Save File option, this gives you the option to Save As PDF.

by adjusting the URL of the new faster loading format you can always force the old which highlights the specific article, the rest of the page greyed. The display format was revised over a year ago when they improved the search screen functions.
Backward compatability had been maintained so eg if have saved a weblink or created a custom citation in Ancestry 5 years ago they still open. Occasionally newspaper pages found on a search fail to load, or go hazy when zoom in, but can adjust the URL & open in the old viewer.
