Census for Thomas Roberts, a carpenter
« on: Saturday 12 October 24 15:51 BST (UK) »
Hi,

I have just edged back another generation and wonder if Thomas Roberts, who married Sarah Bibby in 1796 in Cheshire is on the 1841 census? As he is listed as a carpenter on his marriage, it may be a bit easier to find him. He is probably born around 1770-1776.

I haven't looked for a death yet as I wanted to see if he and Sarah are on the census.

Thanks for any help. : )

Hi rosie99 and thanks for your reply.

I don't know, sorry. I can ny assume they stayed near Chester or moved onto the Wirral, where family were. I just have the marriage and was hoping they did make it onto the 1841 census, so I have a rough birth date.

I'm not 100% sure. I'm trying to get evidence together to check and make sure. I have Elizabeth Roberts born Parkgate from census and I'm trying to tie it all in. Where is the Elizabeth Roberts born with parents John and Mary?

Thank you. How can I be certain which one is correct? Or is it impossible? Daughter Elizabeth ended up on the Wirral or lived there as a child and was baptised in Chester, which is making it harder to determine her parents.

Thanks very much for all your replies.
