Baptism 26th Sept 1852
« on: Saturday 12 October 24 06:36 BST (UK) »
I would like to view, if possible, the baptism record for Mathew William Marigold on 26th Sept. 1852 at St Matthews Church, Ipswich, Suffolk.   He was born in 1848; registered in Ipswich in 1851 to single parent; then his parents married in 1851.  But he lived with his grandparent in 1851 census.  I was wondering whether his grandparents may have baptised him.  Just curious...
I didn't have any luck with Familysearch so posting here.

Isn’t his birth registered in 1848 in the
British Armed Forces And Overseas Births And Baptisms
in Dublin?
Where are you seeing the baptism transcript?
Where is the 1851 birth reg?

Is this birth record rather than 1851 ?   His grandparents are listed as Hubbard in 1851?

Yes, have certificate from Army Register Book of Births, Baptisms and Marriages.
DOB: 28th Decr 1848
Place and date of the child's Baptism: oh...could be Royal Hospt Dublin... 26th Sept 1852.  I may have read it wrong.
So perhaps the baptism was in Ireland as well.

I have Superintendent Registrar's District  IPSWICH
Saint Mathew
1849
No. 215
30th Dec. 1848 Handford Road St Peter, Ipswich.
Oh.. so in actual fact she gave birth in Ipswich.  Elizabeth Hubbard
No father's name
Registered 31st January 1849.

So I had it wrong.  He was actually born in Ipswich and Baptised in Royal Hospital Dublin?

They did marry on 4th Feb 1851 in St Mathew Ipswich.

Oh, now that I can see; she gave birth in Ipswich 1848!  Ah - makes more sense now.

Then child baptised in Dublin where the father was stationed on 26th Sept 1852.

Has been good to get this sorted.

Thanks.
