William Taylor of Cornack near Clough

Hi All
           I have the following marriage notice  most likely from 1833
 Quote : On ist inst.by the Rev , John Hall ,Clough, Mr John  McAllister, Dunsevick, near Giants Causeway ,inn keeper, to Miss Sarah, sixth daughter of Mr William Taylor, Cornack, near Clough  .
 
   Can anyone tell me anything about the William Taylor with at least 6 daughters at Cornack, Clough.
Any information would be helpful.

Cornack is likely Cornark, which is part of Ballyhutherland townland, near Clough. The farm is on the Old Frosses Rd, and can be seen on the 1832 - 1846 OSNI map on the PRONI website.  (Source is the Placenames NI website). William Taylor is listed as farming there in the tithe applotment records in 1834 but gone by the time of Griffiths Valuation of the townland in 1862. No Taylors in the townland in 1862.

Tradition was to marry in the bride’s church. Rev John Hall was Minister of Clough Presbyterian from 1806 until 1865, so that’s likely the Taylor family church.

          Thank you for that information. I don't know if William only had 6 daughters but if there are no Taylors in the Griffiths valuations it is possible that the family ceased with William's death.
    I am trying to establish if he had a connection with the Taylors at Aird,

 also do you know if the Clough presbyterian records are at PRONI and if so, when do they start
  That marriage notice was in the Belfast newspaper 8th Feb 1833.
  I have a Thomas Taylor of Aird:
Thomas is named at Ards in 1790 election. In the 1796 Flaxgrowers and the 1803 Agricultural census he is named at Bushmills.
   This makes Thomas the first definite known connection between the Aird and Bushmill Taylor families.
   It is possible that the William Taylor at Clough might be the son of this Thomas. I have no other details for him and those records only give Bushmills as his place.

              Thank you for that information, I had thought that Clough was closer to Bushmills.
  This changes my thinking that William might be of the Aird Taylors, and I will pass the information on to another Taylor family representee from Finvoy as Clough is much closer to there.

Has anyone got access to the Clough Presbyterisn Church records for the period from about 1820
  I would like to know if there are any more marriages for daughters or sons of William Taylor of Cornack.
 The marriage that I have for Sarah was on ist Feb, 1833 and she was the 6th daughter.

Clough Presbyterian church has no baptisms earlier than 1865 and no marriages before 1845. The congregation is long established, dating back to the 1600s, but unfortunately their early records were burned in the 1860s (according to a local historian in Clough).

          Re William Taylor being in the Tithe records at Ballyhulherand, Grange of Dundermot ,
 I have found that there is also a John Taylor at Drumaglee , Grange of Dundermot 1834.
   This could be a connection of William's, either a son or brother ??.
 does anyone know anything about him.?
