Hi, I keep my laptop plumbed into the printer then take screenshots on my phone, e mail them to myself and download them to print.
This morning I tried to print something and got this message
This file does not have an app associated with it for performing this action. Please install an app or if one already exists create an association in the Default apps setting page.

I keep getting messages to create disc space and I delete temporary files and a few days ago cleared some apps that I thought were not needed, I don't know what I've done? Just need it back to printing again.
Any advice please?

If you double-click on the file that you've emailed to yourself, does it open in a photos app (so you can see the pic)? If not, that's the source of your problem. The Windows Photos app has a habit of "forgetting" the file-types its associated with but is easily fixed.

Report back as necessary.

Go to Settings > Apps > Scroll down the list to find the Photos (Microsoft Photos) icon
Select (click) it and then Advanced Options
Scroll down until you find Reset and click on the Repair box.

                    I think I deleted photos because I never used it, I only have photos on my phone. Now I know where the problem is I will try to fix it. When I open the e mail there is a picture of the screenshot, when I click on it, it opens in a little widow at the top and says open file, that's when I got that message

If your laptop doesn’t have the Photos app now, you can reinstall it.
Go to the Microsoft Store to download.

Hello again, I had a go at installing Microsoft photos but it failed because it is running short of storage space,  it said Make some room but there's only 16 apps on it, mostly ones that can't be deleted. I guess you get what you pay for as it wasn't expensive.
My payslip came through on my work email and I forwarded that to AOL Mail and printed it off fine.  The obituary I mailed to myself will download but won't open to print, I get the message about no app associated to perform the task.?? I should never have deleted photos

You can’t do much about the minimal number of programs (apps), so you have to review your data files to consider moving them to alternative storage. But before doing that, I imagine you’ve already reduced unnecessary system files (such as clearing browser cache) but what about cleaning-up Windows temporary files? There’s often 100s of MB tied up with those, even GBs if you upgraded Windows. That’s used space which is safe to recover.
