Parker Family, Templepatrick
« on: Friday 04 October 24 19:16 BST (UK) »
Has anyone researched this family as far back as the late eighteenth century (ie: 1700's)? Any assistance with this matter would be greatly appreciated.

Some christian names would be helpful - unless they were the only Parker family in Templepatrick
Census Information is Crown Copyright, from www.nationalarchives.gov.uk
Carlin (Ireland & Liverpool) Doughty & Wright (Liverpool) Dick & Park (Scotland & Liverpool)

The christian names of: James, John, Joseph and Matthew are prevalent throughout the 19th century.

allister -- Parker isn't really an Irish surname. Might the family be descended from someone in the Military, who then stayed in Ireland?

Or do you have information which leads you to believe they were in Ireland in the 18th century?

Who is the earliest ancestor you have reached please and their approx birth year?
Places of interest;
Lancashire, West Yorkshire, Southern Ireland, Scotland.

The earliest member of the family which I know of, was a Rebecca Parker, born: c1655, who married James Bigger. There is also a Robert Parker, (1704-99) married Jannet ? . Robert had a brother, Thomas (born: c1711) who married Rebecca Bigger. I'm not sure if there is any past military connection, though the Parker's seem to have resided in the Parish of Templepatrick for centuries.

All I can say, is that there are family trees on Ancestry with James Bigger and Rebecca Parker included in them (I appreciate one may be yours).

However, the various locations mentioned include London, Dumfrieshire and the USA as well as Ireland. There is hardly any corroberating evidence and none in Ireland.

So sorry not to be able to help (but I haven't even managed to reach the late 19th century with my Irish ancestors - early Irish Parish records are thin on the ground!!)

I wonder if this could be Jannet
Janet Parker or Carson 1835

There are other Templepatrick Parkers there as well but I didn’t check the names, see the main page to see what survives

Beyond 2022 might be worth a look

The search can be a bit annoying. I tried Parker Templepatrick Antrim and there are some results but again I didn’t check them out.
