marriage lookup request
« on: Wednesday 02 October 24 16:44 BST (UK) »
I am trying to locate the marriage of Philip Malone (-2024) and Teresa Smith (-2023) (just possibly Smyth) in Dublin around 1950
Any suggestions welcome. Thank you

I think you might be a bit confused with dates. According to burial records at Newlands Cross, Teresa was aged 82 in 2023, so born around 1941.  Her daughter Martina was aged 55 in 2017, so she was born around 1962.

You are probably looking for a marriage around 1960, not 1950.  I don't think these records are available to the general public but someone else might have information on that. The available indexes go to 1958.

That is so helpful, thank you.  I had come across the death notices, but the version I found didn’t include the age.
If it wouldn’t be too much trouble, could you check Philip Malone, who died very recently in 2024, but again, my version of his death notice doesn’t give an age.
Thank you very much for your input

There are no ages in the death notices, the ages are from the burial records.  You can search here:

I cannot see a record for Philip, perhaps the online records have not yet been updated.

That’s really helpful, thank you Debra - and also explains where the miss8ng ages came from.

Much appreciated.
