I'm seeking help tracing my 3x great-grandfather, Ewen Cameron, born around 1805/6 in Scotland. He married Hannah Tomlin in Hawes, Yorkshire Dales, on 28th December 1840, and they settled in Kirkby Stephen, Westmorland, from 1841 to 1860. His father, also named Ewen Cameron, was likely born before 1785 in Scotland, but I’ve struggled to trace him due to the number of possibilities. Does anyone have any suggestions or insights on how to proceed?
