1939 The Drum Inn Wonstan Sturminster Rd Dorset

Can anyone throw any light on why there was a very large party of 20 children listed as staying at the Drum Inn September 1939, all except 2 still have not been named. There do not appear to be any adults listed. Any ideas/info appreciated. Thanks Brionne.

I can see several adults there - including the inn keeper but there may be 2 Drum Inn’s in Dorset as I can’t see a lot of redacted entries

At the Drum Inn at Wonston in Sturminster R.D. I can see a family of 5 called Knight  , one name redacted.

Thanks for all replies. I do not have a sub for FMPast at present, my image came from A,,,,,try..
FindMyPast is perhaps more up to date, will investigate; mine is a sea of black with just 2 names, one of which is the name  I was looking for, actually born in the area. Thanks again Brionne.

It’s a bit of a mystery this Drum Inn: I get zero newspaper hits for “Drum Inn Wonston” or “Drum Wonston”. And only one spurious hit for “Drum Inn” with the scope limited to Dorset. So, no trace of this establishment.

If you Google The Drum Inn Hazelbury Bryan ( Wonston is a hamlet here) you will get a few hits.
