Yes, I can definitely see "sappers".

There are newspaper articles about the Sapper Sky Divers running from 1966 to 1971. The earliest article includes several names, but not this one. In a later article they are described as "a group of the 9th Independent Parachute Regiment of the Royal Engineers".

I am utterly gobsmacked with delight for the time you have taken to help me and more importantly for the information you found. This is indeed the missing 'Uncle Paddy' - the photo was rather a shock as it looks like my own late father with the Sky Diving trophy.
