In researching my male line back to Shetland I found a Magnus, born abt 1731, residing in Fladdabister and wonder if he is related to William Jamieson born abt 1735 also from Flad and my direct paternal relation. Were they brothers? Did both have a father James Magnuson as patronymics could possibly explain. According to Bayanne, Magnus named his children with surname Manson.
