John Donaghy, County Tyrone
« on: Sunday 22 September 24 00:46 BST (UK) »
Hi all,  I am researching my Donaghy tree and am hoping to get some help.  I'm looking for any information on John Donaghy who married Sarah McGinty.  They had a son John born in 1832.
John married Margaret Campbell in Australia in 1854/1856.
I believe they may of had another son Edward born 1838 but that is all the information I have.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your time.

"John married Margaret Campbell in Australia in 1854/1856."

What information are you seeing to support this marriage place and date?

"John Donaghy who married Sarah McGinty.  They had a son John born in 1832"

Where does this information come from?

What BDM records do you have for the people you have named?

Registration of births didn't start until 1864 so you'll need to search for church records for baptisms. If they were Catholic many of the R.C. parish registers are online (free) but coverage varies from parish to parish-

I see that you haven't made any posts since 2015 until today and you need to update your email address- "My email address is not working, please click on Contact support for help."
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

The only marriage I can find is in Ireland:

Name: John Donaghy
Marriage Date: 28 May 1855
Marriage Place: Arboe, Ireland,
Spouse: Mary Campbell

There is an small article in trove.nla.gov.au regarding the Golden Wedding Anniversary of John and Margaret Donaghy in 1906.
In December 1908 there is a death notice for a John Donaghy aged 79 years, and in 1921 there is a death notice for Margaret Donaghy. Not sure if her age is correct, because if the above marriage is the right one she would have only been about 14
