Italy - Church/Burial record of Pierre Le Cordenner
« on: Saturday 21 September 24 22:43 BST (UK) »
Hello everyone,

Could someone help me find the burial record of Pierre Le Cordenner please? He died on December 26th 1807 in the military hospital of Legnago and he is the son of Jean Le Cordenner and Marie Yvonne Philippe. He was a soldier in the Napoleon wars who died of a fever. I don't know where his burial record could be. It could be in the hospital records if they had a cemetery or in one of the Catholic churches in Legnago. I doubt he was buried in France since the trip back to Pleudaniel, Côtes-d'Armor, where he was born, would have been too long.

Here is a the link for the transcription of his death record (record is in French):

Best regards,

Martin

Familysearch has records of Legnago 1807, but unfortunately not online.
https://www.familysearch.org/search/catalog/419396?availability=Family%20History%20Library

You can only view these records in a FH-center or in a library that has the same access.

This Italian website has registers starting from 1871, so not from the desired time.

Hi Zefiro,

Thank you for the information. I will look in the records once I go to the library or the archives, but I don't think that it is what I am looking for. The link you posted is for vital records, so I might find his original death record, but I doubt they will mention his burial which would be a record made by a priest either at the hospital or in a church. I could be wrong, since I am not familiar with Italian records.

Best regards,

Martin Goyette
