What happened to 2021 project to photograph C of E gravestones?
« on: Wednesday 18 September 24 21:56 BST (UK) »
A few years ago I remember reading here on this forum that some organisations were photographing all Church of England graveyards and their gravestones.  I can't remember what the project was called, have heard nothing about it since, and have no idea where to access it online.  I tried to search this forum for old posts about it, but couldn't find anything. When I tried to google for it, there was only one article from 2021, which contained no specific information.

I vaguely remember something about English Heritage, Church of England and maybe lottery grants being involved, but I can't really remember.

Does anyone here know what happened to this project, what its name is, or where online there is any current information about it?

This article explains the progress up to last year, will be a long slow process by the looks of it

Thanks for this information.  I clicked the link in the blog, and just got page not found.  The blog was dated 1st February 2023, and there still doesn't seem to be much information about which church yards have been photographed, or even their website.  As you say, it looks like it will be a long, slow process.
