I am trying to find the witnesses to the marriage of Smith Goold (born 1812) to Elizabeth King (born in 1813) 14 Aug 1831 Lavenham, Suffolk. Elizabeth can also be found as Elizabeth Wissett King.
Thanks very much!

Thanks CaroleW! I reversed the two surnames although I have seen it the first way in a transcription of her birth. I am hoping there is a way to find the record of the marriage that includes the witnesses names.

Thanks for looking amondg! Yes, all of Anne's children (there were eight) with William King, a tailor, were illegitimate. I was hoping to find witnesses to Elizabeth and Smith's marriage to see if one of them (or both) might be family members. I know the marriage is too early to request a copy from the GRO and it seemed the only way to view a marriage record in the parish registers that included witnesses from Lavenham was to go visit a Suffolk Archives branch (or Records Office). I do have the CDs from Suffolk Family History which have been
very
helpful but the witnesses are not included. I just found this thread so maybe I just need to be patient until this project has been completed:

I don't know why I didn't find this thread yesterday.
