No Matches on Family Tree DNA
« on: Monday 16 September 24 13:41 BST (UK) »
Hi,
Some time ago I uploaded my Ancestry DNA to Family Tree DNA.
As a non subscribing member I was able to see my matches until this morning when I discovered that I have "No Matches".
Anyone know of any problems?

Hi Andrew,
FtDNA go through spells where the site does not show matches, or you get errors reported loading the pages. I am not sure what is going on and i have tried reporting it once before and it started working again shortly afterwards, for a while

For 3 different kits on FTDNA I'm showing no matches so it's not just you  :-\

FTDNA is now linked to My Heritage.

Problems are very likely in the development of this linkage.

For me it has not provided and useful matches for a couple of years now.

Agreed. Just a money pit for the ' upgrades '

I would not recommend FTDNA to anyone

Just to clarify, its only the family trees that are linked to MyHeritage. None of the DNA testing/results have been shared

ftDNA is the site of choice for yDNA testing.

When I uploaded my Ancestry atDNA to ftDNA I did find one new match that I linked into my Family Tree.  There are a few others that I recognise from Ancestry or Gedmatch but only the one has proved useful

Do you know what the specific link is? I was hoping that MyHeritage could push the Y tests more. They have done a good job of getting DNA tests into more hands. Particularly in Europe. Ancestry is very Anglo-centric. And maybe they could get that $450 tag for the big-Y test down. Seems a lot when you can get full genome for less.
