Burial information in Lanarkshire.
« on: Thursday 12 September 24 09:01 BST (UK) »
Hello, appreciate any ideas to find burials. Hector McKenzie died in Wishaw b. 1847 - 13 February 1888 and the Lanarkshire Council have not been able to find his burial. His wife Marion Wilson and son James McKenzie along with his wife Robina are buried in Cambusnethan Cemetery Wishaw. Apparently, Robina was so well liked in the community they paid for a headstone. Are there photos online of the headstones in this cemetery.  Is there way to find Hector? His family home was Dingwall, I can't imagine at that time he would have been taken there for burial.
Thanks Mandy.

Hello,

The Heritage Centre in Motherwell previously had burial records for Cambusnethan, and if you know in which lair(s)/grave(s) Marion, James and Robina and James were buried, this may be a route to see if Hector was buried in the same lair.

You could also seek advice on the two threads below, both of which relate to the cemetery records and headstone pictures for Cambusnethan:
