"Remember this device" on Ancestry
« on: Wednesday 11 September 24 12:01 BST (UK) »
I have checked the box in an attempt to not have to wait for the security code everytime I login, but it doesn't seem to work.

I try to leave it logged on permanently as often as possible, but this isn't always practicable.

Does anybody else have this problem or a solution?

This "remembering" may rely on a cookie and maybe you've previously set-up your device to clear cookies when closing your browser?

No.  ( I actually spend far too much of my life telling people about the perils of routinely deleting cookies, as they are so valuable for making sure that a website works how you want it to. I really hate it when the first thing some people say is 'delete all your cookies', at the very least use a cookie manager to selectively delete them. anyway I'm getting off Topic)

I even asked Ancestry if that might be the case and they couldn't give me an explanation.  I spoke to a very genial Irishman, who was no help at all, and I said to him at the end of the conversation that he didn't sound very worried, and he assured me that life was too short to worry. So much for customer service.

Seems unlikely to me that checking the "remember" box could supersede an enabled 2-FA selection.
