Hi All,
I would like it if some-one could find the actual parish register entry for the marriage of Edward Neighbour & Anne Tredaway at Cookham dated 23 Aug 1767. Quite surprisingly, they also baptize a daughter, Sarah, on the same day.
I am having trouble with this pair as I believe Edward was baptized in West Wycombe 28 Feb 1749 while Anne was baptized 13 Mar 1750 in Farnham Royal, making him 18 and her 17. I am interested in seeing if there is anything about banns or license, parental consent, or parish of origin.
The only other child I can find for an Edward & Ann Neighbour is James baptized 30 Jun 1771 in St Luke Finsbury London. It is this James that I have as a 3G grandfather.
There is a subsequent marriage of Edward Neighbour bachelor of West Wycombe to Martha Pointer of Bisham 19 Aug 1773. They have five known children all born in West Wycombe; Elizabeth 1774, William 1776, John 1778, Thomas 1781, James 1783.
So, am I looking at two men named Edward Neighbour; did Anne die and Edward re-marry; or was the marriage some-how annulled because of their age and lack of parental consent?
The reason I ask is that I am getting DNA hits of both mothers which suggests two marriages of the same man but I need to confirm it if possible.
Many thanks, Colin
