SHEERAN
« on: Sunday 08 September 24 19:45 BST (UK) »
Trying to help a friend but have no knowledge on Irish records.
Trying to find information on the parents of
Patrick Sheeran born 1912 in the Dublin area.
Parents are:
Thomas Joseph Sheeran and Catherine Carberry.

Patrick married Elizabeth Fearns in 1939 Possil Park, Lanarkshire.
Witnesses were Michael Sheeran and Margaret Mcbride.
Father, Thomas Joseph Sheeran is listed as a Street Sweeper and Patrick is listed as living on Crossburn Street, Glasgow.

Thank you

irishgenealogy.ie is a great resource for researching Irish ancestry. It is completely free, too.

The only matching birth registration I can find is this one:
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1911/01541/1624157.pdf

Gives Patrick a birth date of 27th January 1911, with his parents residing in Dalkey in Dublin.

Also a registration for brother Michael:

Here is their marriage, which gives the names of their fathers:

EDIT: The entry in the parish register also gives their mothers' names:
https://registers.nli.ie/registers/vtls000633757?locale=en#page/16/mode/1up
Entry number 175.

Here is their entry on the 1911 census:
https://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Dublin/Dalkey/Sorrento_Road/96523/

They are living with Catherine's father, Michael, but are incorrectly enumerated under "Sheridan."
