Anne McDonald (18?-1903)

Looking for Anne's Mother, have her father as an Anthony McDonald (1815-1865)
Have her marriage to William Power on January 19 1868, which was how i got her fathers name.
Also have 5 children, two boys, three girls;
    Alicia - (Alice) Power  1831–1907
    Maria Power  1870–1957
    Bridget Power  1872–
    William Power  1875–
    Anthony J Power  1877–

But it doesn't seem to make sense that Alice was born in the 1830s, and the others are in the 1870s!  There has to be something wrong with the information i have in my family tree, unless there was another marriage and Alice was born into the first marriage of William Power.
Anne could be his second wife.

I wonder if this is the death of William Power Snr, from Prosperous and he died in 1878 (6 Sept 1878).  His age is given as 74 years so a birth in 1804.  So quite a bit older than Anne.  The death is reported from the town of Prosperous, love the name, which is the town that William gives as his residence on the marriage certificate. The person reporting could be Anne though at first I thought it was Alice.

With an age difference it is quite likely that Alice/Alicia would be Anne's step daughter.

In looking up the births I was looking for the name of the person who registered them. Sometimes it will be the grandmother ie wifes' mother esp if this is a first child. 

The Irish did have a naming pattern and it is worth seeing if this may have been used in this family

You refer to the death of an Antony Mcdonald in 1865 aged 50.  The record  has not been imaged/uploaded to Irish Genealogy yet. If you have got it could you advise who reported the death please and the cause of death. 

A Bridget McDonald also dies in Naas in 1865

If this is the correct family be aware that Caragh Parish is rather difficult to research.
The original register is locked away, no access allowed.
The records on NLI are mostly a transcript which is full of errors
For example the Civil record of Alice’s marriage gives the date as 26 Feb
But on NLI the date appears to be 26 July, with Feb written over.

It also doesn’t give her father’s name, however if you look on FamilySearch church records the date is correct and her father’s name is recorded
