SURREY MILITIA from the 16th century
« on: Friday 06 September 24 09:52 BST (UK) »
Hello!
I realise I probably need to go to the Surrey History Centre, but thought it worth posing the question on here first.
Does anyone have access to any such records?
I'm seeking details for any of the SANDERS, SANDER, SAUNDRE, SAUNDRES family (who lived in Charlwood, and Ewell, and Horley - all near Reigate) who served in a county / local militia.
They were landed gentry, many knighted.
Any details no matter how small, will be much appreciated.
