« on: Thursday 05 September 24 15:06 BST (UK) »
Margaret was born Abt 1828, she married John Walker on 2 December 1847 in the Parish of Banagher, Co LDerry.
 https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1847/09336/5380651.pdf
narrowing the date down, when her husband died he was married.
John Walker died on the 7 Dec 1895 • Townland of Glasvey, Tamlaght finlagan, Londonderry,

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1895/05918/4680251.pdf

Their eldest daughter Mary Jane HANNAH died in 1929 - 77, REILLY, F, 1929, 644 / 14 / 143 MARYHILL - Death certificate on Scotland's People recorded that both parents were dead by 1929.

I can not locate Margaret in either the 1901/1911 census.  Although there is one Margaret that would fit in  Co Tyrone, mother-in-law born in Co LDerry, but I can't link the family of Marshalls, to the Walkers. http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Tyrone/Carrickmore/Carrickmore_Town/1748052/
Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance

The record shows that he died in the townland of Ballykelly, Tamlaght Finlagan. His son James, the informant was living in Glasvey.

James Walker lived in Ballykelly in the 1901 census with his wife and 6 children.  http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Londonderry/Ballykelly/Ballykelly/1522203/
Most of James and Hessie's children were  born in the Townland of Glasvey, Tamleight-finlagan.

Well done, that looks like a real possibility.  Right area, I will now look for the daughter who is living with her.  Thank you so much.

Same mother & daughter in 1911- census incorrectly filled out (5 children/5 living) since Margt. was a widow-
https://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1911/Londonderry/Desertmartin/Toberhead/613432/

Here's Margaret's death a few years later-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1913/05330/4483756.pdf

Possible marriage- David Walker to Margaret Lees-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1847/09333/5379701.pdf

I thought that Margaret Walker looked unlikely since Toberhead is well outside Ballykelly area.
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I do not know if they had a daughter called Elizabeth.  But it is possible. Looking at the valuation records for Desertmartin,  both the mother and daughter’s names are recorded on the valuation books. Earlier records for Desertmartin record a David Walker. I haven’t gone into the records in great detail as yet. I find it’s strange that there is no record of a death.  Thanks for the information.

David Walker (of Toberhead) died 10 November 1885 aged 70 yrs. His widow Margaret Walker was the informant.   #149

Note that Toberhead townland is more than 40 miles from Ballykelly townland - a considerable distance to journey in the late 1800's.
