Clayden Family Wet Fish Soop Owner Forest Gate circa 1940s Look up please
« on: Thursday 05 September 24 12:03 BST (UK) »
I am looking for a Charles William Clayden who had a wet fish shop in Forest Gate London E7 circa 1940s possibly earlier,  but it was gone by the 1950s.  I know Censuses are not available after 1921 except the 1939 one, but could anybody help with census up to those two years  if poss please?
Charlie married a Daisy in Edmonton I think in Sep 1906 but not certain on that or her surname pre marriage.

The family of Claydens since the 1950s now live in Hertfordshire.

Many thansk in advance

I'm not sure exactly what you are looking for, and of course full details from both 1921 and 1939 can't be given here.

Assuming he is the CWC born ~1884 who married a Daisy, then the best candidate in 1921 is a fishmonger in Cheshunt; and in 1939 he is a greengrocer in Ilford.

Charles' wife Daisy, died in 1942, Ilford, age 55.

There is a death in Essex of a Charles Clayden in 1967, age 83.

There is a marriage in Hertfordshire in 1946 for possible Charles W to Grace Ephgrave.

Could he have remarried after his wife's death?

There is a death of a Grace Clayden age 48, in Essex, 1958

Thank you.  The wet Fish shop they ran or owned was in Katherine Rd so not too far from Ilford. The 1906 marriage date to Daisy is good. Just had a relative confirm it.

The other posters said you cant post Census on her has that stopped I have had plenty shown over the years.  If Charles died in Ilford it could be they lived Ilford perhaps in 1921?

It’s specifically 1921 and 1939 that can’t be shown.
