Uniform identification and date?
« on: Saturday 31 August 24 11:55 BST (UK) »
Hi, these photos were found in a couple of albums that probably belonged to my great grandmother. There are no names or dates written on any of the photos but the albums seem to be from 1900-1920ish. Can anyone identify the uniforms and/or be more specific about the dates?

I know my great grandmother had a brother in the Navy so maybe he is in the white uniform. Do you think the man sitting on the wall is the same person as the man in the white uniform?
Any ideas of the regiment of the army uniform? Or if it's pre WW1 or from WW1?
Thanks!

The Scottish cap badges could be 5th (Sutherland and Caithness) Battalion, 1921–46, of the Seaforth Highlanders:

The top two look like the Lovats Scouts. The third Merchant Navy, nothing distinguishable in the image.

DUNCAN Kent
EVERITT Colchester,  Dovercourt & Harwich Essex
GULLIVER/GULLOFER Fifehead Magdalen Dorset

I agree with Jebber on the identification of Lovat Scouts for the capbadge in the first two photos.

One the 4th photo yes the Royal Navy did have a white uniform as did the merchant navy (I think). Lighter fabric for when in the tropics.

The person in this one is wearing a black arm band on his right arm and it looks as if his right arm around the wrist/hand area is wounded.
