« on: Saturday 24 August 24 15:38 BST (UK) »
Tuesday 15th  October 2024, 7.30 - 9.00pm (Doors open from 7pm)

Dorset Family History Society will be hosting a meeting at St George's Church Hall, Darby’s Lane, Oakdale, POOLE, Dorset, BH15 3EU with a talk by MIKE RANDALL entitled ‘SMUGGLERS’.

Mike Randall is a retired Headmaster and has regaled us with some fascinating talks previously. He was a tour guide at Corfe Castle for many years and is still a volunteer at Shire Hall (Court house and county gaol) in Dorchester, known for the trial of the Tolpuddle Martyrs. Mike has an interest in Archaeology and has been excavating in the Middle East for over 30 years. Always interested in history he has also run classes on genealogy for Poole U3A and has researched hundreds of families for over 50 years.

On this occasion Mike will be giving us his new talk on Dorset smugglers.

Please note some of Dorset FHS's Meetings are held by Zoom to enable those further afield to attend.
