The 1881 census gives Robert Fairbairn's birthplace as Logie, Fife.

The 1841 census for Oldhamstocks has Robert, 35, Agnes, 35, Elisabeth, 10, Francis, 8, David, 7, & John, 2.
Possible birth for Robert in Innerwick, East Lothian, 1803, to James Fairbairn & Margaret Watson

The 1881 census gives Robert Fairbairn's birthplace as Logie, Fife.
Robert Jr born Logie, 1862, passed possibly 1954, age 91, Townhead, Glasgow
Added
Robert & his family moved to Edinburgh from Barry between 1885 & 1887. His sons, John, passed age 8, in 1895, Thomas, age 2, in 1890 & his wife, Margaret, age 40 in 1903.
Have not been able to track him after 1903, so far.

Robert Fairbairn's father David passed, age 77, Dunfermline, 1911, mmn Mackie. His parents were Robert Fairbairn & Ann Mackie.
His wife, Agnes, passed age 76, Westruther, 1919.
There are no existing records on SP for either David's birth or the marriage of his parents.
Added
Robert remarried in 1908, to Elizabeth Thomson or McEvoy. They are on 1921 census in Leith Sth.

Hi Kloumann
There seems to be 2 trails of the Fairbairn family coming through from my request, 1 in Fife way and 1 in East Lothian way. I`ll need to find out which is the correct route so I don`t get the wrong family. Thanks again for the ongoing support is really appreciated

Hi Scot's G.
I think the East Lothian/ Berwick ones were a red herring.
Sometimes you get on the wrong track with similar names & dates.
I looked up David's marriage to Agnes Robertson which gave me the names of their parents.
Agnes's parents were Robert Robertson, Agric Labourer, & Agnes Wallace.
I am fairly sure that the Fife ones are correct.
