Richard Duncan - Again
« on: Thursday 15 August 24 07:56 BST (UK) »
Hello I'm still, many years on - still trying to find out more about my Grt Grt Grandfather Richard Duncan Abt 1808 - 1862 married Thomasin Waterland 1837 in Wakefield. I have a couple of questions please.  Richard Duncan worked as a porter for Railway - would there still be any documents about Railway Employees - 1851 census has him as a Railway Porter in Wakefield.  However, all the census 1841, 1851, and 1861 consistently shows he was born in Boroughbridge have never been able to find a birth for him. I don't have any baptism etc.  Where are parish records for baptisms kept for B, bridge.  I have a coroner's report of his death in 1862 in Wakefield. Sadly the marriage certificate does not give any details of his parents.  I would be so happy to chat with anyone again who can shed new light on where I can start to find him.  I live in Australia which makes researching on site very difficult.
Thank you for taking the time to read my questions.
Janette
