Hi can anyone help me out . I have an ancestor Samuel Wallace from Ireland now by DNA it indicates County Down . I have two other Ulster and Irish lines I know where they are and it’s definitely not these lines .
Samuel moved from Ireland to south west Scotland to the county of Kirkbrightshire . Approx today’s Dumfries and Galloway region . It seems the Wallace’s may have been Ulster Scots . On various censuses in Balmaclellan Kirkudbrightshire Samuel is listed with his wife Agnes Forrest herself having an Irish mother Margaret Watson b circa 1772 and father William who was a Stonemason / Labourer his nationality has not been determined but may have been born in the 1770s and died before 1823. But Agnes born in Buittle Kirkudbrightshire.
Anyway Samuel is variously put between 1841 51 and 61 as being born 1797 1802 1804 . He married Agnes in a Presyberterian marriage ceremony at Springholm in 1823 . He died in 1866 his occupation was a Labourer aged 66 .
His parents were stated as Peter Wallace Labourer , many trees have his birth as 1776 Ireland death unknown . His mother Elizabeth Wallace maiden surname Rutherford she was b circa 1777 and a death record in Balmaclellan Kirkudbrightshire is there which states she died in 1837 , no other information . Ireland has a lack of records but with the recovery of much records supposedly destroyed in 1922 I might be able to find something or someone might help or direct me thanks Chris
