"CROYDON-CUM-CLOPTON, (or Croydon or Clapton) a parish in the hundred of Armingford, in the county of Cambridge, 4½ miles south of Caxton, and 6 north-west of Royston. "
Taken from GenUKI: https://www.genuki.org.uk/big/eng/CAM/CroydonCumClopton
Croydon-cum-Clopton parish was in the Caxton Registration District, 1837-1935.
Afterwards in Cambridgeshire Registration District until 1974.
just down the road from me. Everyone round here just refers to it as Croydon, never Croydon cum Clopton. Clopton disappeared over 500 years ago, just fields now.
