Just curious.  Is it possible to find a birth in Sydney for these years?

You could try searching birth announcements in newspapers prior to 1955 in "Trove". After that date newspapers are covered by copyright restrictions. Someone with greater knowledge than me will be along soon. Franh1946

Privacy laws mean that births less than 100 years ago are not available, so official records won't be able to be obtained.

As Franh1946 says, trove generally has newspapers up to end 1954, (some papers available later), however the Sydney Morning Herald is able to be searched in various databases including google newspapers up till 1989:
