I'm looking for any information on Emma Pitt parents etc ..she married a George Henry Shaw and they had a daughter in 1913 called Ada E Shaw.

The marriage was Dec qtr 1901 so have you looked for them on the 1911 census to determine her birthyear & birthplace

GRO online shows at least 3 children b pre 1911 - William Harry 1902  Lily May 1903 & Matilda Annie 1905 per GRO online

Suspect she's the 1880 birth Birmingham on freebmd mmn Nicholls but can't match a
John Pitt/Nicholls marriage in the timeframe (see later reply below)

One tree on Ancestry has John Pitt, b 1849 in Bicester, Oxfordshire, and died 1885 in King's Norton, Worcs.

Ann Nichollls, abt 1852 in Birmingham.

Children: Joseph, abt 1885 in Birmingham, and Emma.

In 1891, Ann, a widow, was with her sister, Jane Massey, 40, b Birmingham, and Joseph, nephew of Jane Massey. I can't see a birth for Joseph mmn Nicholls.

Parents: George Nicholls, 1821-1879, and Jane, 1816-1897.

Grandparents: William and Ann, but no dates.

Quite a lot on the descendants of Jane Nicholls and John Massey, including photos.
