Also no such thing as "Irish DNA" it is a DNA found through centuries of immigration to Ireland from the Normans, Vikings, Celts, Brits, Scottish, French Huguenot (in cork areas) and more. Same for England, Wales and Scotland.
Technically correct, of course, but An*estry's methods seem to be able to distinguish Irish from the rest of the UK. I have a 90% clear picture of my 32 immediate antecedents, one being a great-grandmother from southern Ireland, so that is 1 in 8 = 12.5%. My DNA return stated 12% Irish, which may be coincidental but I prefer to assume it is fairly accurate. The remainder is rather unspecific UK 'mainland', which is also reasonably accurate
