The last few really hot days got me through a whole lot of household washing and drying - lovely. It's too hot for me, though. Got eye test and some new glasses last week, organised periodic blood test for me next week, and prescription renewal, and got boiler service done  ... can't get hold of local garage tried ringing again today to see if the repair to my car's electrics is getting anywhere - seems they can't source the part needed - so down to one car on the road to share between us! Nuisance. Busy week, though.

So far I  haven't had a good week, my husband had a hospital appt Monday,  he has ongoing  appts but nothing else serious,  then the freezer door miraculously didn't shut properly, some food defrosted, so I made the decision to but a new under counter fridge and freezer.

My car MOT 'd this morning , failed due to a local main dealer causing an oil leak when they put in new springs or whatever  they were in January, unfortunately my husband chose not to have the MOT     at the main dealer but to a local garage so now we have to take my car into the main dealer to get it sorted, whatever it is on Monday,  i hope they don't charge us, we will be carless, ok for me but my husband can't walk far, but no one hurt, injured or or ill so we have to count our  blessings, just makes me a bit fed up,  roll on Monday.

Not quite so hot today, a bit of a breeze but like TY I have taken advantage of the good weather.

Take  care

Things often don’t come alone do they L.M.

I can guarantee if Inset a date for something like visiting my daughter - everything goes wrong, prescription mix ups or not delivered ,something in the house is nit working, health appt I have waited for arrive !
Hope it all gets sorted for  you.

Well —— the alarm, chap from the company came promptly yesterday .
 :-[
A spider’s thread hanging from the ceiling in a very dark corner where the alarm sensor is mounted ,he said it was very common ,they are so sensitive .
Probably the spider had gone up,or down.
Now the smoke alarm is getting over sensitive and won’t stop even when I touch the off button with a broom handle. Ceiling mounted and so needs ladders but in the middle if cooking the. Broom handle is quicker but yesterday it would not stop at all so dismounted now.
It is a wired in one so maybe house insurance  will cough up if not sin says a simple battery one  will be perfectly O.K but I won’t climb up to do that!

Well off to shops and make my get away before helpful son comes in from next door ,I can’t have my little  mooch etc when he is with me .
Hope all have a pleasant weekend .
Cheerio.Viktoria.

Viktoria

Sons (and daughters, for that matter) are a wonderful help, but they do whip through things as quickly as they can because of their other commitments, so I do understand that you like to have your mooch around the shops without their help.  My husband is just as bad - much as I appreciate his sharing of the supermarket shopping, I know that it is something that he hates doing, and his main objective is to get out of the shop as quickly as he can.  I'm sure I miss some things because of the pressure, but I dare say I was the same when looking after my mother.

Now, don't you dare go up that ladder, will you, Viktoria!  Jebber's advice sounds very good to me.

Many thanks Jebber, I did not know that.
Trouble is this one was newly fitted by the builders who gutted and renovated the house ,but whilst they did leave the instructions for all other things there is nothing for this one.
So Monday will do some phoning .
Cool fresh start to a now bright breezy day .
Bought an interesting plant and card for my nice neighbours at the side of me
across the lane .
They were both pupils at the schools where I worked .
I got a nice Cache Pot —— posh ceramic plant pot —-too.

Some threading beads for Kyra ,also known as The Suffolk Flasher ——  ;D
Now looking for blunt bodkins for her tiny fingers ,at school we used drinking straws but the holes in these beads are just too small by a fraction .
We have a super craft shop, Clark’s ,in Rammy and open on Sundays so I can call after Church.
The beads were very inexpensive ,the better wooden ones are really expensive but more for her tiny hands but we will see.
Very good for hand/ eye co ordination and the fine pincer movements needed to hold pencils crayons etc .

I have a keyboard upstairs stored away ,got it at a car boot sake for my grand daughter ,wasn’t really interested but Flash Harry might be, we can see.
My daughter did very well on the piano.
Taught by our Church organist who lived two minutes away.

Well easy tea tonight , Pepperoni pizza for son ,Margherita for, me,well half of one us enough ,with salad ,maybe potato salad as well.

Cheerio, thanks for the helpful advice ,I appreciate it .
.Viktoria.

Viktoria

We once had a problem with one of our wired in smoke alarms going off, it turned out to be caused by thunderbugs getting into it.  OH vacuumed it out and it was fine after that.

Are Thunderbugs little black insects ,do they have wings?
The seem very common in areas where cereal crops grow.

I am looking for a special Maths aid, they used to be common in schools.
A square with numbers, 1-12 across the top row and down the left side.
By following the number lines across and then down you can see in a moment the tables , so easy.
I know tables need to be learnt, but they do sink in this way, and are they learnt off by heart by  every morning as we had to do ?
I can easily make one ,but a better quality one will be longer lasting.
Flash Harry gets a bit upset ,he does know them but has to say the whole table to get to where he needs to be.
I know them now but struggled a bit like that at his age ,mind you—— they were on the outside of the back cover of our arithmetic exercise books,we were not allowed to look though  ::)
I never had a pleasant helpful Maths teacher ,like the logic now but was always anxious about arithmetic un school in school.
Loved Geometry and Algebra but  Arithmatic and Logs!

A sunny but fresh morning , not much washing to do ,no full loads unless my son has a “ present “for me——-

Trying to fix a date to visit my daughter which is convenient for her and fits in with son’s work schedule .
I also need some drainage work done before Winter.
Isn’t time flying by !
I must be enjoying myself  ::)

Cheerio, Viktoria.

That’s them, also known as thrips.  Get everywhere, even have a couple stuck in my computer screen.

Is this the sort of thing you are after for times tables?

Could be printed and laminated to make it a bit more durable.
