Dougal McLaren Henderson WW1

I have a WW1 medal rolls 8ndex card for the above it says he was in the RFA as a gunner reg no.264508 it says victory RFA/319B page 44069 then says British with same numbers after it. Can anyone find out more info4mation on Dougal McLaren Henderson. The other members of his family all served in the black watch. Douglas was born 1898

He was a gunner in the Royal Field Artillery.  The 2 medals for the Great War medal and the Victory medal shows he was in an operational war zone (France, Balkans, Middle East etc) some time after January 1916.

There are no WW1 records for him, nearly 70% were lost in a fire in WW2, but if he served beyond 1920 his records will still be with the MOD, currently being transferred to the National Archives.

Thanks Jebber,only recently came across a medal from the First World War for Dougal Henderson, no one in the family knows anything about his service. Lots of family information about his brother John who was killed July 1916 at the battle of the Somme
He served with the black watch,was wondering if Dougal was conscripted into the RFA

Being 18 in 1916 when conscription was introduced makes
it quite possible he was conscripted as single young men
were top of the list.
You would need to know his Bde. to have any chance of tracking his
progress through the war.
The reference & page numbers refer to where he can be found on the Medal Roll.
The index cards are just a quick reference to that.

As Jim1 says, Bde is short for Brigade. Prior to 1938 the Royal Artillery used the term to mean a regiment or battalion sized unit commanded by a Lieutenant Colonel,  while in the rest of the Army a brigade was (and still is) a formation consisting of several units brought to together for a particular tactical purpose and commanded by a Brigadier.
