So this means Mary must of married a evans as she’s a widow name evans living with smith  I think I’m right

Why do you think he married? I have been searching for him between 1881 census and 1939 war register. I think I have found him as a single man in 1901/11/21 living in the household of a John James Alcock and his wife Alice nee' MANN. Funny thing is his brother Joseph Smith Evans in 1939 has living in his household a Lancelot MANN born 1900. Trying to link the Manns.
