My 2nd Great Grandmother Martha Knight died on 6 November 1873 in the Brighton Workhouse of Typhoid which she had for 10 days.
I am attempting to find where Martha was buried, I have searched extensively unsuccessfully and The Keep have searched burial records where Workhouse Inmates Burials were done with no success. They suggested she may have been buried in a church but I’ve been told that as Martha was an unmarried mother this would not have been allowed but not sure if this is true. The Keep also asked if I had an address for her. The last address I have for is 1871 Census Cuckfield Workhouse. I have found it difficult to find Workhouse Inmate Records also.
I am reaching out to see if anyone can advise me if there is anywhere else they could suggest I can look. I live in Australia so most of my United Kingdom research is done online. I also have My Heritage and Ancestry subscriptions and use Family Search.
