Yes, lots of connections. Including one which, if I can prove it, would make me related to just about every European royal and noble person ever. And of course, to all the notorious criminals!
It's no big deal, really - if you get back far enough we're all related to royalty. In fact it would be far more surprising to find someone of British descent who could be proved not to be descended from royalty.
Take, for example, Kenneth MacAlpin, who united the Picts and the Scots in the 9th century. If one generation is 30 years, that's about 40 generations back. If every one of those 40 generations had just two children, there would by now be 1,099,511,627,776 descendants in the 40th generation, which is over 130 times the total population of the Earth, and getting on for 16,000 times the population of Britain.
