Eliza Jane Smith

Hello,

I am looking for an Eliza Jane Smith born in Douglas around 1839-1843 (marriage certificate age gives 1839, census age gives about 1843). The GRO transcript gives her father as Henry Smith, an iron ore miner. There is an appropriate marriage between a Henry Smith and Elisabeth Quirk but I cannot find any sign of Eliza's birth or of any siblings.
She is attested here:

England and Wales Census, 1881 (RG11 5191/56 29)
And her death is recorded for Cleator in 1899.

As per Frances post here is a link to the RC baptism on Family Search (the site is free to use after free registration) with the original image available for free download. I can't see any reference to the name of the church but I would think it would be St Mary's. Location says Douglas where St Mary's is today but it did not open until 1859 so the baptism may have taken place in Castletown as according to wiki St Mary's was previously located in Castletown:-

look up Roman Catholic under parishes on manxnotebook - there was St Francis Xavier as Douglas church pre St Marys - not sure Castletown had a resident priest at this period - seem to recall (it being some years ago I did the transcriptions) that sometimes non-Douglas baptisms were noted as such

I see husband Samuel Roberts died young. Mining is so damaging to lungs & body.
5 Iron Ore mines at Cleator... Even living near to that many wouldn't be safe.
