Dating advice on 2 pictures
« on: Wednesday 24 July 24 15:56 BST (UK) »
hi all I have some pictures I wanted to ask some advise on dating

Could I also ask for an opinion - If photographs were taken at a photographic studio for example in Terrence street in Kingston - Is it incorrect to assume the individuals most likely lived in the area/street?

Hi Justin,

I had to remove one photo as it was mostly white empty space, we have to pay money to host the images please can you remove any empty white space from images as it wasted money.

Regards

Sarah

From the sleeves on the lady's jacket, it looks like mid-1890s to me .Also, It could well be a marriage photo as her ring is obvious.
The photo studio is not necessarily in the same area as their residence.

Agree 1st. is mid-late 1890's.
The 2nd. looks earlier as the cardstock design doesn't fit an 1890's date.
If you have it can we see the back?
Could be as early as 1870's.

Unfortunately, the backs are blank

The 2nd photo - how old would you estimate this man to be - late 60s or early 70s ?
