There's a global IT issue following a Microsoft security update that went wrong.

I'm also having problems, I expect it's down to the Microsoft IT issues that are in the news at the moment.

The global IT issue is down to a cyber-security company called CrowdStrike - which is used by Microsoft 365.
Not a Microsoft problem per se.

I have been watching reports about the IT problem on BBC news website.
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/live/cnk4jdwp49et
It just had an article about Downdetector (a website where people report problems with specific organisations websites). Ancestry was one of the websites mentioned as having problems
I tried to get into Ancestry this morning - it didn't even recognise the password I've used for many years.
Seems OK now though
