« on: Wednesday 17 July 24 03:35 BST (UK) »
Ane was born in Fejo Fuglse Maribo Denmark under the surname of Hansen, her fathers forename Hans. Her middle name has also been as Christine, Christina, and Kirstine or Kristine. She immigrated with her husband and 3 children on 20 Feb 1888. She died about 1896 in New York City or Brooklyn in New York State. using her Fathers surname of Nielsen.  Would you be able to locate her actual date of Death and exactly where she died. I have been trying to find this for many years.  She may have died of  TB as it was rampant in New York at this time. Thank you. ankerpep_52   (Janet)

A few questions:  Where did the information come from that she died about 1896 and how do you know her death was under her father's surname?  What were her husband & childrens' names?  Do you have a place of burial or death for her husband or children?

You may have tried these already, but there are various databases that cover New York City deaths from 1896.  https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2240477  https://www.familysearch.org/search/collection/2240477  https://www.italiangen.org/databases/search/?db=nycmuni  https://www.germangenealogygroup.com/records-search/deaths.php  https://a860-historicalvitalrecords.nyc.gov/  I would say to search those with various spellings.

Searching in newspapers may also be an option.  If they lived in Brooklyn, this one might be helpful - https://bklyn.newspapers.com/  fultonhistory.com also has a lot of NY papers from that time frame.
