Help with 1984 Market Harborough burial if possible please.
« on: Sunday 14 July 24 18:20 BST (UK) »
Just wondering if anyone has any records or information that could assist me with a 1984 Market Harborough burial "Look Up" please.

I am trying to find a burial for Elsie Thompson. I have checked FreeBMD and it simply lists a Elsie Thompson death in 1984 Market Harborough district ( birth given as 3rd March 1892 ) but no quarter given.

Appreciate this is a huge ask and I equally understand and appreciate Market Harborough district covers a large area especially if you click on Market Harborough on the FreeBMD webpage to view the list of places within the registration district. However, I was hoping someone may be able to help with some details or information that would help me confirm this is the Elsie Thompson who was married to Bertie Thompson (1893 to 1971).

Many thanks in anticipation Steve  ;)

Many sincere thanks Comberton for your reply and the link you supply.

Pending any replies, my next question was going to be, What newspapers serve Market Harborough? but I don`t need to ask now.

Your help and assistance is very much appreciated  ;D

Just to let you know that you can actually find the month of registration within FreeBMD from 1984 onwards, when the GRO changed their format.  FreeBMD had some programming difficulty about placing it on the results page, but you can see it by clicking on the "Info" button.  In this case it gives 06.84

Many thanks MollyC for your reply. I have used FreeBMD literally hundreds of times since I started my family tree research and have never used the "info" button previously. They say every day is a school day, something else I have learnt today  ;)

For information purposes, Leicester mercury was the daily paper, but the edition market harborough had was different to the Leicester edition, and the harborough mail was the weekly paper. The Kettering evening telegraph was also sold in market harborough, but was more for the villages south of ther.
