The tree has a son Guy Menage Longstaffe, born 1917.

I’m not sure but I think a free Ancestry membership allows you to look at trees, although you won’t be able to follow all the details.

The family are in the 1939 register at 13 Essex Street, Norwich. JWL is a commercial traveller, can't post further details unfortunately.

That has to be his son but isnt that 4 years before his marriage to Elizabeth?

CWGC Debt of Honour
G M Longstaffe b 1917 died 21/11/1943, Captain, 3 Bn., 8th Punjab Regiment, burried Sangro River War Cemetery, Italy. Son of Capt. John W. Longstaffe, MBE, and E A Longstaffe of Norwich.

Added: the mouth of the Sangro River, on the Adriatic coast of Italy, formed the eastern end of the German fortifications known as the Gustav Line. The Eighth Army finally crossed the river on November 25th 1943.

Has anybody identified his mother and father in the census.

We are told its a John William Longstaffe, a draper, but I can't find any close matches.
